The cutters are designed specifically for cutting insulated copper or aluminum electrical cables (such as battery cables). The hooked jaws are designed to keep large-diameter cables from slipping out so you get a cleaner cut. The jaws lock closed to prevent damage in storage. The molded black and orange bi-material handles offer a cushioned, non-slip grip. This size measures 170mm long x 10.5mm thick. The jaws measure 26mm wide when closed. Maximum cable size 50mm square (IECC 60228) or 1 AWG. Maximum jaw capacity 14mm (9/16 in) OD including insulation.
